Upland Borough Police rookie, starts his career off by saving the life of a baby
UPLAND, PA - A rookie police officer is a hero today, just one year into his career as an Upland Borough, PA Police officer.
Charmaine Freeman was at home when she realized that her 2 week old daughter Mecca was not breathing. Freeman told CBS Philly that she called 911 and then, “Officer Keeney came speeding to the rescue, jumped out and I want to say he jumped right into action, took her out of my arms and he performed a miracle because my baby wasn’t breathing,”
Officer Keeney started doing back blows and eventually Mecca vomited and started breathing. “It was a big relief on my part,” Officer Keeney said. “All that was going through my head was just to get the baby breathing again.”
Freeman told CBS Philly, “I would just thank him a million and one times. I can never repay him for what he did yesterday. If it was not for him, yesterday could’ve turned out completely different. He is truly our hero here on earth.”
Baby Mecca is doing fine and has made a complete recovery.
Officer Keeney, you are a true hero.
