COLUMBIA, SC - Tiffany Sipes and Michael Ross were on a date Sunday evening, enjoying a boat ride on Lake Murray. Suddenly out of nowhere, another boat slammed into them.
Kevin Sipes, Tiffany’s father told WACH, “She had fallen asleep on his shoulder as they were coming back down the lake. That’s when all of a sudden, this pontoon boat came at them with no lights on and struck them.”
The impact caused the couple’s boat to flip, throwing Tiffany into the water.
This is when Michael sprung into action. “All I could see was her highlights and her hand floating,” said Michael.
Tiffany’s father Kevin said, “He pulled her out, got her on the boat, and resuscitated her. He brought my daughter back to life so I wanted to repay him.”
Kevin started a GoFundMe page so Michael could buy a new boat.
Tiffany suffered broken ribs, a bruised lung, and a brain bleed and is slowly recovering.
“He’s my hero. He did something that will change my life forever,” Tiffany’s dad said.
Michael Ross, thank you for being a true hero.
