Natick Firefighter passes away suddenly

NATICK, MA - Natick Firefighter / Paramedic John Francis (Jake) Feeney, 30, passed away this past Tuesday from an 'active duty death.'
The Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts and Natick Local 1707 wrote in a letter that they, "regret to announce the active duty death of Brother Jake John Francis Feeney IV."
The letter did not explain what caused Feeney's death.
Feeney recently joined the Natick Fire Department, after graduating from the fire academy in February. Previously Jake was an EMT with Eascare Ambulance and a Paramedic with PRO Ambulance in Cambridge.
The Natick Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post, "In his short time with us, Jake served with skill and compassion as part of our public safety family. All of our members are feeling his loss deeply. He will be missed. Please keep his family in your thoughts. Rest easy, Jake. We've got the watch from here."
Jake is survived by his parents.
